Some pieces do not get a second chance. An upright piano, a framed original, a grandmother’s cabinet or a rack of studio equipment are all jobs where the cost of getting it wrong is not the cost of the move. These get more padding, more hands and a driver who plans the route rather than just following it.
How we handle it
- Extra padding — multiple blankets, corner protection and foil, applied before the piece leaves the room.
- Extra hands — these jobs run with more movers than the volume alone would need.
- Piano boards and straps for uprights, so the weight is never carried on the casters.
- Separate loading — fragile pieces travel with space around them, not wedged between boxes.
- A slower route — the driver takes the corners and the speed bumps accordingly.
- Insured to €10.000 per move, with higher cover arranged in advance on request.
Pianos specifically
Uprights are routine for us. Tell us the make, roughly the weight and the number of stairs at both ends and we will tell you the crew size it needs. Grands and baby grands need to be quoted individually — send photos and we will come back with a plan and a number rather than a guess.
We move the instrument. We do not tune it, and any piano should be tuned after it has settled at the new address, not before.
Artwork, antiques and studio gear
Framed work travels upright and padded, never flat under anything. Antiques with loose joints get taped and supported before they are lifted. Studio and audio equipment gets its own space in the load and is never stacked on.
